Video edited from a Performance on Jools Hollands "Later" TV Program, September 2009. Billed as the "ABC and D of Boogie Woogie", this was a superb performance of old-time Boogie Woogie Piano Music, featuring Boogie Pianists Axel Zwingenberger {Germany}, Ben Waters {UK}, drummer Charlie Watts {of Rolling Stones fame}, and Dave Green {UK} on Double Bass. Having done several shows during 2009, the Band received an invitation to appear on the BBCs Later TV Program with Jools Holland. This Movie Clip has three main parts : 1 : Interview with Charlie Watts {with a short clip of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson}. 2 : Axel and Ben playing a Boogie Duo accompanied by Charlie and Dave. 3 : The Band are joined by Jools Holland to make it three Pianists on two Grand Pianos!

Axel Zwingenberger – piano Ben Waters – piano Charlie Watts – batteria Dave Green – contrabbasso Questo quartetto delle meraviglie nasce da unidea di Ben Waters: rimettere insieme una formazione che aveva visto in televisione oltre ventanni prima e che comprende Charlie Watts, batterista dei Rolling Stones, il virtuoso del piano boogie woogie Axel Zwingenberger ed il contrabbassista jazz Dave Green. Storicamente, la distanza tra le più grandi rockstar britanniche ed il nucleo pulsante della scena jazz londinese è sempre stata minima, e fin dagli anni 60 Charlie Watts ne è la prova: riuscendo da un lato ad essere il pilastro della ritmica per la più longeva e popolare rock band del pianeta, e dallaltro assecondando il proprio estro con formazioni jazzistiche che vanno dal quintetto alla big band.

Boogie for Stu – Including Shakin Stevens, Jools Holland and Mick Hucknall joined four Rolling Stones – Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Mick Taylor – in Boogie for Stu at the Ambassadors Theatre tonight (9 April 2011), an intimate concert to mark the launch of Ben Waters tribute album in memory of the late Ian Stewart (Stu), co-founder of the Rolling Stones.
