After asking for a gig request, the user "16051997" requested me to upload a 1989 concert and as the US tour hasnt had much love, I have decided to upload a show which is complete and a good audience recording! East Rutherford 1989! During this US tour, Elton wasnt in the best shape mentally with his addictions getting worse and worse as the tour progressed plus I am not a big fan of some of the arrangements of songs on this tour with some songs sounding quite flat. This was probably due to Eltons state of mind at this time as the next big tour after this (1992) has much better instrumentation on songs plus a fresher sound! With mentioning Eltons state of mind, he cancelled and rescheduled a fair few dates on this tour with this show being a rescheduled one as he points out after the first song! Eltons voice is in mostly good shape but his tendency to growl is still prominent however it isnt as bad as on other gigs! Onto the setlist! Bennie And The Jets is not the best version with Elton growling all over the place plus I am not a fan of this arrangement of the song at all with the Roland not working! Also, he does not hit any falsetto notes on the "magazine" unlike others from the tour although it sounds like he does on the third chorus, Island Girl is a good performance with falsetto but Elton avoids some of the higher parts, Harmony is a nice performance with nothing wrong with it, Tiny Dancer is a solid version but Elton does growl some of the song, Sleeping <b>…<b>
