THE ROLLING STONES – LIVE 1966 – "Lady Jane"

In observance of The Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary together, heres a classic clip of the band performing one of their classic hits from the 1960s: "Lady Jane". "Lady Jane" is a Rolling Stones song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards featured on their 1966 album "Aftermath". In America, "Lady Jane" was the B-side to The Rolling Stones single "Mothers Little Helper", but "Lady Jane" reached #24 on Billboards Hot 100 singles chart on 08061966. "Mothers Little Helper" reached # 8, making the release one of the few Rolling Stones singles with both songs becoming hits in the US. "Lady Jane" stayed on the singles charts for a total of 4 weeks. It has an Elizabethan atmosphere with its lyrics and Brian Joness dulcimer, without any drums on the studio version. However, live recording have drums included. The song was a part of their live act during their 1966 and 1967 tours. They also performed the song during their fourth TV appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Since Joness death in 1969, the Rolling Stones have not played the song. With The Rolling Stones turning 50 this year, heres a live clip from 1966 to remind everybody what the fuss was all about.
