"If I Was A Dancer (Dance Pt. 2)" is a longer and different mix and containing different lyrics from "Dance (Pt. 1)" which was released in the spring of 1981 on the really fine 4th Rolling Stones album, Sucking In The Seventies. Ive My absolute favorite Rolling Stones albums are those that make up the 4 album stretch (of which Emotional Rescue was the third) that began with Black and Blue in 1976 and ended with Tattoo You in 1981. Certainly they made greater albums than some of these (Some Girls I believe can be argued to be among their greatest ever) but I guess its not a coincidence that these were the albums which were released when I was in high school and was really into The Rolling Stones….plus of course, the memories surrounding them are the strongest.
